Following the huge success of the Fifty Shades books, which have become a billion dollar franchise and made EL James one of the biggest authors on the planet, it was no surprise when it was announced that they were going to turn the hit books into movies. There was a huge amount of talk about which stars we were going to see appearing in the films, before it was finally revealed that Jamie Dornan would play the role of Christian Grey, with Dakota Johnson in the role of Anastasia Steele.

While many people were expecting Fifty Shades of Grey to become a huge success at the worldwide box office, it actually did not make as much as was hoped, although it did still make $570m, enough for the sequel to be made. Fifty Shades Darker also failed to really hit the mark that was expected for these films, but again, since the books were a trilogy, the third instalment got the green light. Now, Fifty Shades Freed has been completed, which means it is farewell to the stars of the franchise.
There had been talk of Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan agreeing to sign on for a possible fourth instalment of the Fifty Shades movie franchise but, since the two stars only signed on for three movies, it now looks highly unlikely. Jamie has admitted that he wants to take on more challenging roles, while Dakota is unlikely to want to stick around with a new actor taking over.

Fans will get to see Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele, when Fifty Shades Freed hits the big screen on February 9, 2018 in both the US and the UK.
