There has been a lot of talk over the past few months and years about the possibility of Warner Bros. and DC bringing us a Justice League Dark movie and, at one point not too long ago, it looked like it was actually going to happen, with the fantastic Hollywood moviemaker Guillermo Del Toro on board to direct the project, before it all fell through and the Justice League Dark movie seemed to fade away.

However, following the release of the fantastic movie The Shape of Water, fans called for the Justice League Dark movie to be given another chance or, at the very least, for them to make a Swamp Thing movie. Guillermo Del Toro directed The Shape of Water and did such a fantastic job on the movie that the fans were eager for him to come on board and direct a Swamp Thing film.
Now, those fans are more certain than ever before that Guillermo Del Toro would make a fantastic Swamp Thing movie, following the fact that he not only won the Best Director Oscar at the Academy Awards, but the movie itself also managed to pick up the Best Picture Oscar. This definitely shows that there could be a good case for a Swamp Thing movie to work and that Guillermo could well be the man to make it a success.

There have already been a number of rumours about the possibility of a Swamp Thing movie happening in the near future, with a number of different names being linked to the lead role of the movie, including that of the talented British star Tom Hardy. For now though, it is all still just rumours and there is no official word of whether we will ever actually get to see a Swamp Thing film.
