When it comes to deciding which characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are going to get their own standalone movies, the fans are always quick to give their views on who they thing deserve one. While it is clear that most fans would love to see Scarlett Johansson get her own Black Widow solo movie, there is also another character who fans are keen to see getting their own film.
Actor Mark Ruffalo has been fantastic as Bruce Banner aka the Hulk, in the Marvel movies we have seen him in so far, and fans are as eager as ever to see him getting his own standalone film. Unfortunately though, it seems very unlikely that we are going to get a new Hulk solo movie any time in the near future, as Marvel president Kevin Feige has revealed the complications with the character.
Feige has been talking a lot about the Marvel Cinematic Universe recently, and when it comes to the possibility of a Hulk standalone movie, he explained, "Well, those are contractual things that I’m not entirely attuned to. Disney and Universal would need to come to an agreement to allow Marvel to do a standalone Hulk film for Disney."
He added, "What’s so great, and as you just said, Ruffalo lights up any room he’s in, any Twitter feed he’s engaged in and any movie that he’s in. It’s just a great pleasure to have him in The Avengers films and as you know his next appearance will be in Thor: Ragnarok, which is a whole other type of fun Hulk adventure for him that we can’t wait to get started on."
So it looks like we are going to have to make do with seeing Mark Ruffalo reprising his role as Bruce Banner aka the Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok, before then going on to team up with the rest of the gang for the Avengers: Infinity War films. Shame!
