For those of you unfamiliar with Hayley Gene, she is the daughter of iconic children's entertainer Fred Penner and has been carving out a career of her own. Hayley has enjoyed some relative success, writing tracks for some top artists, including Victoria Duffield and Victoria Justice. Hayley has spoken about her career, admitting that she wants to be recognised for her hard work.

Gene explained, "I don't have a Top 10 Billboard song yet. Everyone wants me to say I've written the latest Katy Perry song. For me, I'm trying to build a reputation as someone who's doing something unique." Hayley Gene's credits include the likes of More Than Friends from Victoria Duffield and Shake from Victoria Justice.
Meanwhile, Hayley admitted that it is not always easy to find time for her personal life, "That's a daily struggle, finding time to have a real life. I have a hard time being social because I just want to work. I work with workaholics, which is very inspiring but in effect makes me a workaholic. I don't want to miss any opportunities. I want to always be ready to work," she added.

While Hayley Gene does love writing songs for other people, she is a performer at heart and constantly works on her own music, with the hope of one day becoming a star performer in her own right.
