Jane Leeves has plenty of experience in Hollywood, and says she knows how the ageist attitude in the business can get to anyone. While she understands why any actress might consider going under the knife, she also firmly states it's something she'll never do.
"I don't want to have some hideous surgery that's not even going to guarantee me any work and could make me unemployable," the former Frasier star recently stated. In fact, Leeves firmly believes that's what happened to another famous actress:
"Meg Ryan destroyed her career with plastic surgery."
The 52-year-old star seems completely comfortable in her own skin, and refuses to fold to the pressure that Hollywood often puts on actresses as they age. As for the many over-30 women who have had cosmetic surgery, Jane expresses her dismay:
"It looks as if they've all been in a fire at a certain point, it really does."
In addition to worrying about the appearance that badly-done cosmetic surgery can cause, Jane also seems concerned that all the cosmetic procedures are sending the wrong message to young people. Instead, she would like to see more focus on actresses like Meryl Streep and Helen Mirren, who dare to age naturally and gracefully.
