Those of you who are fans of the beautiful Irish actress Katie McGrath will be well aware of the numerous campaigns for the stunning star to land a role in a comic book project, whether it be on the big screen or the small screen. Not too long ago there was a lot of talk about Katie playing the role of Zatanna in the planned Justice League Dark movie, but that now looks very unlikely to happen.

The reason this is unlikely to happen, is because it has been reported that Katie McGrath is set to make an appearance in a different superhero project, after it was revealed that the actress is set to take on the role of Lena Luthor in Supergirl season two. Supergirl did not have the best of first seasons over at CBS but, since joining The CW, the future of the series is certainly beginning to look brighter.
The description for Lena Luthor says, "Beautiful, powerful, and enigmatic, Lena arrives in National City on the heels of brother Lex’s incarceration hoping for a fresh start. Lena has taken over as CEO of her family’s billion-dollar-tech company, Luthor Corp, which has been tarnished by Lex’s evil infamy. Her goal? To re-brand the empire as a force for good. Lena wants to be seen as her own person, separate from her brother. Kara is drawn into Lena’s sphere and must determine if she is friend or foe."

We have been big fans of Katie McGrath for many years now and we truly believe that this is some fantastic casting from the guys over at Supergirl. With the show now joining The CW DCTV Universe, the future really is bright for Supergirl and the rest of the gang.
Supergirl season two will premiere on The CW on October 10.
