Let us take a moment to think of the beautiful and talented singer Katy Perry, who recently admitted that it would be a dream come true if she was to ever win an Oscar. Katy even went as far as to claim that she would just be delighted if she was to get nominated for an Oscar, with the recognition meaning the world to her.

Katy Perry had Oscar dreams
Unfortunately for Katy Perry, her chances of ever winning an Oscar were already slim to say the least but, following the recent Oscar nominations, her chances look increasingly doubtful. Katy was being considered for the Best Original Song category, for her track Wide Awake, from her movie Katy Perry: Part of Me, but missed out on the being nominated.
Before the Oscar nominations were announced, Perry explained, "It's like a dream's dream. When I was growing up and working on music, it was always a dream to win a Grammy, but Oscar was so far out of my dream sphere. It's interesting to step out of your playing field and to be recognised from a different angle. It would be an honour."

Katy Perry was considered for Wide Awake
In all fairness to Katy Perry, the Best Original Song category was very competitive, with the final Oscar nominations being Let It Go from Frozen, Ordinary Love from Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, Alone Yet Not Alone from Alone Yet Not Alone, Happy from Despicable Me 2 and The Moon Song from Her.
