Since bursting onto the scene, teenage rebel Lorde has ruffled more than just a few feathers, having plenty of negative things to say about plenty of other stars in the music industry. While some of the things Lorde has said in the past does hold some weight, there are other things that she has said which are way off the mark.
In the past, Lorde spoke out against singer, songwriter and musician Taylor Swift, claiming that the Queen of Country was too "flawless", but it seems that Lorde has now changed her opinions of Taylor. Lorde has now praised Taylor Swift for her authenticity, admitting that there are not enough young singers these days playing their own songs.
During an interview with the latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine, Lorde explained, "There are very few of us. There's Tavi [Gevinson] and the Rookie [Mag] group, King Krule, and, to an extent, Jake Bugg. The other teenagers sing other people's songs, which is fine, but it's not an authentic teenage experience."
Taylor Swift has enjoyed a hugely successful career to date, with huge hit singles, massively impressive albums and plenty of awards along the way. Taylor will look to win another Grammy this year with her album Red but will face stiff competition from Sara Bareilles for The Blessed Unrest, Daft Punk for Random Access Memories, Kendrick Lamar for Good Kid, M.A.A.D City, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis for The Heist.
