The studio execs over at Marvel are clearly listening to what their fans have been saying, as they are looking to give us a lot more female characters in their Cinematic Universe, starting with the movie Avengers: Age of Ultron. Actress Cobie Smulders will reprise her role as Maria Hill, while Scarlett Johansson is back as Black Widow, and Elizabeth Olsen joins the cast as Scarlet Witch, and Cobie has admitted that she is excited by the strong female presence in the film.

Smulders was chatting to the guys over at Entertainment Weekly, when she told them, "I see Maria as having more of a female presence in this world, and it’s really exciting to have Scarlet Witch come in, and to see the Black Widow have these amazing moments, and see more women on film with all these dudes. It’s great."
As well as talking about the much stronger female presence in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Cobie Smulders also went on to tease fans what they can expect from Maria Hill in the Marvel movie. Cobie says that there is a completely different vibe to Maria Hill in Avengers: Age of Ultron compared to anything we have seen from her in previous movies.

Smulders added, "There’s so many pieces to this giant puzzle, and I’m happy that Maria Hill is one of them. She’s working for Tony Stark, yes, but they shot so many locations all over the world and this team is out doing all sorts of things. So I like to think that Maria is at headquarters, trying to keep everything running as smoothly as possible. And working for Tony Stark is a whole other ballgame. She doesn’t have S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel to back her up at her disposal, so it’s an entirely different vibe for her."
Avengers: Age of Ultron will open on April 24, 2015 in the UK, before then hitting the big screen on May 1, 2015 in the US.
