Marina and the Diamonds singer Marina Diamandis has spoken out in defence of her debut album The Family Jewels. Marina claims that, while she is aware that the album was not the biggest debut album to ever be released, it was also not what you would call a flop.

Diamandis explained, "My first album wasn't a flop, but it wasn't a wild success. This one is more assured, and I feel it will come to define my career. I've always been honest about my ambitions. There's no shame in that. You need a certain level of narcissism to do this job."
Marina Diamandis recently admitted that she is what you could call the anti Adele. Marina claims that, while Adele has achieved huge success with her album 21, which talks about heart ache and heart break following a failed relationship, Diamandis has decided to put on a front and not let people see the pain that she feels from her own heart break.

Marina and the Diamonds is preparing to release the new single Primadonna, which is out on April 16, while her new album Electra Heart is set to be released on April 30.
