While it is always nice and often special to see what the human imagination can come up with in the world of the movies, it is also interesting to see those films that are based on actual events. People are always intrigued by the major events in the world, so it is always intriguing to get an inside look at how things went down for the people involved.
It was almost three years ago when the tragic events of the Boston Marathon Bombings took place, and it seems that there are a couple of different movies based on that day that are coming our way. Mark Wahlberg will star in the movie Patriots Day, taking on the role of real life cop Danny Keeler, while Jake Gyllenhaal will star in the film Stronger, which sees him playing survivor Jeff Bauman.
The Mark Wahlberg movie Patriots Day has been described as "An account of Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis's actions in the events leading up to the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing and the aftermath, which includes the city-wide manhunt to find the terrorists behind it.." Meanwhile the Jake Gyllenhaal film Stronger is described as "A victim of the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013 helps the police track down the killers while struggling to recover from devastating trauma."
It will definitely be interesting to get two different views of how things unfolded on that fateful day and we are very interested to see what both movies have to offer. Both Patriots Day and Stronger are set to begin shooting this Spring, with both films likely to hit the big screen in 2017.
