British star Paul Bettany is one of the many people in Hollywood who like to try to mix things up a bit in their career, by not only working as an actor, but also moving behind the camera and trying their hand at directing. Paul directed the movie Shelter, as well as penning the screenplay for the movie, which saw his wife Jennifer Connelly starring in the film along with actor Anthony Mackie.
Paul Bettany has now opened up about shooting the movie Shelter, when he spoke about the scene where Jennifer Connelly and Anthony Mackie have to kiss. Paul claims that Anthony was a bit nervous about having to kiss Jennifer, due to the fact that the director and actress are husband and wife.
Bettany was a guest on the British television show Lorraine, when he told the host, "It’s called Shelter and it’s about a homeless couple in New York City, and the movie is really about empathy. And it also stars Anthony Mackie who is in these Avengers movies. He was very anxious about having to kiss my wife in front of me. I think he struggled with it!"
As well as working on the movie Shelter together, Paul Bettany and Anthony Mackie have also worked together in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where Paul plays the role of Vision and Anthony plays the role of Falcon. The two will reprise the roles for the upcoming Marvel movie Captain America: Civil War, which is set to hit the big screen on April 29 in the UK and May 6 in the US.
