Actress Stana Katic has developed a large following of fans and entertainment observers as a result of her performance as Detective Kate Beckett on the television series "Castle" but over the past two years she has started to show up on the big screen more and more and there is a sense that she is preparing to eventually move from "Castle" and become a leading lady on the big screen.

She is currently filming the movie "The Tourist" in Italy and while information about her role in the movie has not been made available it has been revealed that the plot revolves around a heartbroken college football star who becomes involved with a dangerous Florentine sport that is well beyond his ability and he is further led astray by a beautiful local woman.
The fact that so little information has been released about her role has some insiders believing that this will be another role in which she steals several scenes with her impressive dramatic range that she has been developing both on television and in her recent movie roles "CBGB" and "Big Sur".

In "Castle" she has shown herself able to play a character who is a tough leader but also is a woman with anger, frustration and able to be a romantic interest as well and the prospect of her possibly being a love interest in a movie in Italy, a role that she has not played on television could be developing.
Pictures of the talented actress and some of her "The Tourist" colleagues were released on the the Internet and she looked very happy as they were about to eat some food. That smile might also be one that reflects an actress who knows that filmmakers are starting to look at her as someone who could be a leading lady on the big screen just like she has become on television with her hit show "Castle".
