The Killers have become one of the biggest bands on the planet, since having huge success with their debut album, however things have not always ran as smoothly as they would have liked. Lead singer Brandon Flowers has been reminiscing about the early years and he has recalled his first gig in the UK, which was a little embarrassing.
Flowers explained, "On our first UK tour, I was still wondering whether I was good enough to do this,’ he admits. ‘Our first gig was in a pub, The Dublin Castle in Camden Town, and I was so nervous that I fell offstage during Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine. There had been a lot of hoopla beforehand about us being the next big thing, so it was very embarrassing."
He then spoke about his relationship with drink and drugs, adding, "I used to drink. And smoke. But, as you get older, and have a wife and children, the dynamic starts to change. The drinking is fun when it starts, but it doesn’t always end that way. I live a normal life. But I’m always thinking about what I’m going to do next, musically. Do I need a fresh producer? What was Peter Gabriel doing when he was 32?"
The Killers are having a great time of things at the moment, what with their brand new Christmas single, their recent appearance on The X Factor final and a first The Killers greatest hits album.
