Mirte Maas is a young Dutch model who is now ranked within the Top 50 models on Model.com. She lives in New York but she models extensively throughout Europe and the United States. She has reached a rarefied air in breaking into the Top 50 ranking for models but the question among many of the top modelling scouts and industry observers is does she know what it takes to ascend to the upper tier of modelling?
She was the February 2013 cover model for the Brazilian edition of Vogue magazine and walked the runway for the Giorgio Armani and Fendi fashion lines. Mirte Maas was also profiled on Fashion TV in which she spoke about her experience modelling. Yet despite all her accomplishments as a model in her young career there was a sense that while she enjoys modelling she is still learning what it takes to become the face of a clothing line or cosmetic company.
Mirte Maas has the look and the walk of a top model but at this time she has not demonstrated the attitude and personality of a model who wants to be the "face" of a design house or cosmetic line. In 2014 Mirte Maas must prove the modelling industry wrong and break out of the stereotype that she is a good cover model and runway model but not someone who can be the face of a clothing line or cosmetics.
The best models of 2014 are unafraid to be different whether that means being outspoken, in great shape or by literally carrying their ambition to be a great model as a "chip on their shoulder". The moment Mirte Maas embraces being distinguishable within her own special way she will become a model in even greater demand and will see her ranking rise signficantly as a result.
