We continue our Top 10 countdown of movies that never happened and, following on from yesterdays failed Sigourney Weaver Alien 3 movie, today we bring you what made number 7 on the list.
As many of you will remember, Sam Raimi gave us a Spider-Man trilogy in the early 2000s and, while even the director himself admitted that he was not a fan of Spider-Man 3, the movie still made a bucket load of money, which led to studio executives signing Sam Raimi on for Spider-Man 4.
The film would once again see Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker aka Spider-Man, while this time around he would face the villain Vulture, played by John Malkovich and the Black Cat, played by Anne Hathaway. Interestingly enough, Anne went on to have great success as a different cat, when she played Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises.
Unfortunately for Spider-Man 4, Sam Raimi could not quite bring the story together in the time frame required and decided to drop the project. However, Sam suggested that the studio bring a new team on board to reboot the franchise, which is exactly what they did with The Amazing Spider-Man, which saw Marc Webb directing Andrew Garfield as the web-slinger.
