It is fair to say that the upcoming movie Furious 7 is one of the most anticipated movies of 2015 but, when we think of the Fast and Furious franchise, winning Oscars does not usually come to mind. However, actor Vin Diesel, who plays Dominic Toretto in the movies, claims that the new movie has the potential for glory at the 2016 Oscars.
Diesel explained, "Universal is going to have the biggest movie in history with this movie. It will probably win best picture at the Oscars, unless the Oscars don't want to be relevant ever. This will win best picture. There is nothing that will ever come close to the power of this thing."
As well as talking about just how big Furious 7 is going to be, Vin Diesel also spoke about the tragedy of losing Paul Walker during filming for the movie. Vin and Paul became very close over the years and, following the death of Paul, Vin says that shooting the rest of the movie was the hardest thing he has ever had to do.
Diesel added, "I had always been the kind of actor that other actors respect. I was just failing so hard. My nose was running and my eyes were tearing. I had to walk off set and try to get all the fluids out. I couldn't contain my emotion ... It became the toughest film I ever had to shoot."
We have no doubt that these will not be the last tears shed over the death of Paul Walker and we expect to see plenty of teary eyed fans leaving the theatre after watching Furious 7. We do not have too much longer to wait now, as Furious 7 will hit the big screen on April 3 in both the US and the UK.
