Since the comic book movie genre began to take over the world, we have had two solo outings from the Marvel hero the Hulk with two different actors taking on the role, with both movies falling short of what the fans were after. Now though, actor Mark Ruffalo has taken on the role of Bruce Banner aka the Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and has really made the character his own.
The Hulk has once again become one of the most popular characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which has led to many of the fans wanting to see the character getting his own standalone movie. We recently heard how the Hulk will have his own arc over the course of Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers 4, but are we ever going to see another solo Hulk movie?
Well, things are quite difficult on that side of things, as it seems that Universal hold the rights to any solo Hulk movie, which means Disney would need to buy the rights to make a new solo Hulk film which ties into the MCU. Now, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has been talking about the future of the character, admitting that he is glad people want a Hulk film.
Kevin said, "I think that back and forth continues, and I don’t know if it will ever happen. But I will tell you, it makes me very, very happy going from a world, ten years ago, when people were questioning the viability of Hulk in a standalone film, to getting asked every other interview, ‘When will there be another standalone Hulk?'"
Well there is no doubt that a new Hulk solo film would smash it at the box office but it does not look like happening any time soon. Sad times!
