We can sometimes be forgiven for forgetting that the big name celebrities in the world are still only human, just like the rest of us, but that really does get driven home when we hear of a celebrity going through something that we can relate to. Music superstar Kylie Minogue is one of the biggest stars in the world and we were all saddened to learn that she was diagnosed with cancer back in 2005. Kylie has now been talking about her cancer ordeal, admitting that she felt guilty for her family because they felt so helpless at the time.

Minogue explained, "I felt a lot of guilt for my family when I had cancer. I was in that moment, trying to get through, and they felt helpless. They weren't, because their strength was important to me. It was tough to see them hurting so much and putting on a brave face. I don't know how much they cried because they just couldn't show that hurt to me then."
She added, "Now I'm going to say clichéd things: you take a look at the bigger picture, what's important to you, who is important to you, what you want to do differently - although I didn't want to do anything differently. I just wanted to get better and get on with it. But I did realise that I love what I do and sometimes the good things come from beautiful moments of connection. I've got pretty good fans. They're really kind."

Following her breast cancer diagnoses back in May 2005, Kylie Minogue underwent a partial mastectomy, with her treatment leading to her going through a medically induced menopause, something which she will have to go through again naturally, although she jokes that she is now fully prepared for what is to come. We are glad to see Minogue well and able to joke about what she went through, and we wish her all the best for the future.
